MS Excel, Chapter 4 Financial Functions, Data Tables, and Amortization Schedules
For those of you that have different levels of expertise regarding MS Excel, I would like you to use this space as an opportunity to share your skills and/or request support if you are having difficulty with any of the tasks at hand. Prior to posting a request for support, you should do your own research and look for support online (or other resources). If you have run into an issue and found online support, I would like you to clearly identify your issue and provide either the steps you have discovered or the online links that have provided you with the appropriate solution.

I didn't have any problems with the homework assignment but I did have trouble figuring out how to subtract using the Insert Function button. Did anyone else have this issue? I understand how to subtract by typing out the formula and I understand how to add, find the average, etc. using the function button but I couldn't find a subtraction formula in the function box. Any info would be appreciated.

I had the same problem on the test. I actually open another window with a blank Excel worksheet and tested the following formula =SUM(D2,-D3) using the insert function to make sure it worked. It worked great but the test marked it wrong. I gave up!
ReplyDeleteI had a really tough time with the test. I thought it was too sensitive. I understand it was testing you on specific key strokes but I was doing it the long way (no shortcuts) and I was still getting it wrong. That's why I started trying it first on a blank Excel worksheet.
Did anyone else have this issue? The wording of the questions was so hard to understand.
I had the same problem with the test. I thought it was very sensitive. I knew I was doing some things correctly and was getting marked wrong for it.
ReplyDeleteI liked the homework. Just looking at the Lab I have to say I felt a little nervous, but I think I got through it okay.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who found the test frustrating. I spent way to long trying to figure out the subtraction function, with no luck. Another problem was using the conditional formatting to highlight cells, this is a simple tasks and the training shows how to select format then fill, but the test kept saying,"try another method." I"m still trying to come to terms with the fact that I bombed an Excel test!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Crystal. My test score does not represent how much I know and learned in Excel. The only thing that test did was frustrate me!!!
ReplyDeleteI just wish I could view the test after I took it and deadline expired so I can try to figure out the ones I got wrong. There were four questions (subtraction question, locking the worksheet, conditional formatting, can't remember the last one) that I could not get..no matter what I tried...I just gave up. Hopefully the access one is not this bad.

ReplyDeleteSo, I thought I was doing fine on this homework assignment until I spent almost 3 hours trying to figure out why my last two columns were not matching the example. I still haven't figured out where I went wrong. Did anyone else have a similar problem?
