Upon review of this chapter, identify what chapter specific skills you find useful and how you could apply these skills in your personal, educational and/or professional life.
Some of you are working with MS Excel 2010 instead of MS Excel 2007. For those of you that fall into this category, I would like you to clearly identify any issues that you run into due to the difference in look-and-feel and/or functionality. In addition to identifying the problem, I would like you to identify the solution that you have discovered. You are welcome (encouraged) to look online for additional support. For those of you that find the support online, I would like you to post link(s) that outline the appropriate steps to accomplish the task at hand.
The new applications (what if analysis & creating charts) in this chapter will help me make my work more presentable and with my time management. I have always split my window panes in my worksheets since my budget worksheets are to big. I find they are easier to understand when you are looking at just what you need.
ReplyDeleteNow that I know how to chart a quick chart to go with the data will give my recipients a quick view of what I am presenting before they start scrolling through the different worksheets. The what if analysis will definitley help me toggle between budget projections instead of my old way....calculator and paper.
Every week I am learning so many new, easier and more professional ways of creating documents, charts, and worksheets. I am really enjoying this class.
ReplyDeleteLearning the new functions and formulas that can be used in Excel has really impressed me, I never knew it was capable of all those functions. I can definitely see how useful those could be in any kind of accounting scenario or if any kind of financial chart is needed. Another one of my favorite features was the goal seek, being able to immediately show what is needed to reach certain goals will be very useful later on as a business owner. I’m finding out all kinds of great uses for MS Office that I never even knew existed, this is definitely one of the most applicable classes I’ve gone through yet.

ReplyDeleteThis program is a great tool for any professional bookkeeper or accountant. The ability to imput formulas using absolute cell references and copy them to other cells is a great tool and a time saver also. Which we all know that time is money.
ReplyDeleteIn addition, I can see that the What-If/Goal Seek function is useful for personal finances and savings records.
One of the things I like is the fill handle because it saves me the time of typing out a series of things. I'm also enjoying the education with the fomulas. I don't have a use on the job for these skills but, Hopefully, after some more practice and some future skills I'll attain one.
ReplyDeleteI thought I had a prerty good understanding of Excel, but realized that there are quicker and easier ways to do somethings. I have also discovered things that i didn't know I could do with Excel.
